Adam Georgelin

“Hello all, my name is Adam Georgelin. I hope you don’t mind me reaching out to you. I was born with spina bifida, a spinal cord defect. And have always worked full time. I’ve played in the Richmond Tigers AFL wheelchair side for the past 3 seasons. I was a part of the premiership side in 2019, and featured on the men’s AFL banner for the preliminary afl final that year. Last year, I took on a fund raising task of pushing a wheelchair through the Victorian high country 125km over 3 days. I have recently discovered that I have been nominated for a community Australia Day award, and was subsequently announced on Australia Day as the recipient of an honour. With this In mind, I have ambitions of being an advocate for those living with a disability within Australia and potentially around the world. I’d like to think I can be an inspiration, a role model and a mentor to adults and children alike. I believe we need to see more with disability on television.” – Adam Georgelin.
